As soon as the curtain fell on last year's 'Fittie Fittie Bang Bang', we had a couple of days to rest before beginning preparation for our 2019 production! Have a look at some of the exciting things we've been up to already!
During show week, it's up to the current administrator to decide who they will pass the baton to for the following year. Our 2018 administrator, Laura Green chose the wonderful Lauren Walker as the new administrator for 2019! Being the administrator of student show is a mammoth job but is equally rewarding. They are basically the executive producer of the show and have final say over pretty much everything! We know Lauren will do a fantastic job this year!
The first job of the new administrator is to choose their admin team. This is a team of students who take care of various aspects of the production. You can find out all about our 2019 admin team and their roles here!
Admin Team Weekend Away
At the end of the summer holidays, our new admin team went down to St. Andrews for the weekend. This was a great way for the team to get to know eachother better as well as to plan the year ahead. It was a huge success with pub golf, pedal boats and lots of food! Take a look at some pictures below!

Tickets for 'The Glaikit Showman' went live on December 4th 2018. If you still haven't bought your tickets you better be quick as a large proportion have already sold! Buy them here!
Our acoustic night in December was a huge success and we raised a fantastic £281.34 which will go towards our 2019 production! It took place at The Butchers Arms who are very kindly sponsoring us this year and there was a whole host of talent on display from our wonderful student show-ers!
Foodbanks at Christmas
The holidays are upon us and so what better time than to spread a little joy? We are proud to say that the Student Show team in connection with AUSA RAG decided to support 5 local foodbanks who’s aim it is to tackle homelessness - all with a total of £20,000. Members of the committee met with three of these foodbanks - Aberdeen North Foodbank, TLC Aberdeen and CFINE as well as Aberdeen Cyrenians. It was truly magical to present our cheques to these well deserving places, especially at Christmas which is there busiest time of the year.
